Mahalia is a JD candidate at Osgoode Hall Law School whose personal and academic journey has fueled her passion for environmental justice and food sovereignty.
Her interest in this work deepened after participating in the Roots for Resilience summer program, where she was particularly inspired by the environmental education initiatives of the Black Environmental Initiative (BEI).
Now serving as a Projects Assistant with BEI, Mahalia is eager to use her skills to strengthen and support her community. Guided by her commitment to law and the environment, she is dedicated to pursuing environmental and social justice throughout her life.
